You HAD to be there

Don't you just hate those times when something hilarious happens in your life and when you go to tell people the story, it just isn't as funny?!?! That happened to Kiley and I this morning. It's a long story, but it started with someone sticking a baby toy in our faces and ended with us laughing so hard we were crying. You can fill in the rest. HAHAHA When something this hilarious takes place, part of me wishes I had a video camera to film what happens. I then realize that no one would know the background information about the people involved, or maybe past experiences.

Mel and I have talked about making our lives into a sitcom. I think some of the things that happen in my life are just too good to keep to myself. Also, I have to admit I bring on some of the experiences myself. For instance... Mel and I went to the airport this weekend and had a blast taking pictures and being silly. We ended up meeting some hilarious people and having an interesting experience looking like crazy people at the airport. Here are a couple of pictures taken... You had to be there to FULLY appreciate them of course.

On other notes, I am planning on heading to Newburg this Saturday to start my Christmas experience at Scott's house. There is something about tae kwan do and a fat suit. This seems like another, "you have to be there" experience. hahaha I will be staying home until probably the 27th to come back for my roommate gift exchange and New Years.

As most of you know, my little sister is moving :( I am super duper sad about this. The cutest thing was that she is afraid I will find another little sister and like her better. That could NEVER happen. I just hope she doesn't get another big sister and like her better. hehehe

Tonight I am going with Lindsey to see the Bodies exhibit downtown. I have really been wanting to do that, so for our Christmas experience together, we are going to see it. I probably won't take pictures there, but will most likely talk about it.

Not much else is going on, I am having the greatest day of my life of course =)

I feel better! It would be nice if it were just a little warmer than 15 outside!!!!

Greatest Day of My Life...

Random thought of the day...

Do you ever find yourself saying the same thing or doing the same thing over and over? I DO! I always say that everyone annoys me, including myself! This is actually the truth. hahah Every once in awhile I will find myself saying something a lot that is just so random. Mom pointed out recently that I say, "well that's crappy." The only reason she knows is because she found herself saying that too! hahah I have started this new thing... I will say "really?" in a kind of high pitched tone. SO RANDOM! I also say, "this is the greatest day of my life." I tend to say this a lot... which brings me to my next point...

Last night Christina, Steph and I went and saw The Lion King at the Murat downtown. I can't say enough about the production. This was by far the greatest thing ever! At one point I turned to Christina and said, "I keep thinking there is no way this can get any better and it does." I highly suggest going to see it! I would seriously fly to NYC just to see it again! On our way home Christina and I saw a shooting star! It was a great end to the evening. aka Greatest day of my life. =)

Why do I always end up in this outfit?!?!?

I was recently told to get out of the 80's and start living in today's society. Well, they might be right. Kyla turned 21 last week and we went to retro rewind. I am an awesome cousin, so I dressed up in my 80's attire. SUCH A SACRIFICE!! hahaha

Eddie made the mistake of telling Kyla that if you tell boys it is your 21 birthday they will buy you drinks. UH OH... EVERY guy we encountered Kyla decided it was approprate to tell them she was 21! I could not quit laughing. Sometimes I really wish I had a little sister, because making Kyla's birthday special was super important to me. We had a lot of fun to say the least!

I am really excited to get these Thanksgiving festivities underway! I am not a big fan of holidays but Thanksgiving is by far my favorite of them. I think the reason it appeals to me so much is because everyone comes over to the house for food, drinks, and SHIT-NANIGANS! Not to mention the fact that mom makes us go around and say what we are thankful for. Why do we play along with these silly games? It cracks me up.

Christina, Chad, and I went out for Martinis last week. We got dressed up and just had a fun time. We even made a catwalk out of a bench!

These were some really neat bars downtown that Chad introduced us to. We totally closed them down, but had a great time doing it!

My little sister and I are also going to see Disney on Ice!!! I haven't told her yet so shhhhhhhh. I am going to give that to her for christmas, and then take her to see the Wizard of Oz for her birthday. She is going to be so excited!

NKOTB, Halloween, Tiny beers, OH MY!

So everyone has been bugging me about getting a new post, put up more pictures... GEEZ! haha I guess I will update everyone on what I have been doing. My other blogs will be more of my thoughts etc. Today I must catch you up from the past month... Travel season is over and now I have some more time to do OTHER things.

First things first... NKOTB! Mel and I had a blasty blast! We rocked it out with them all night long! I met eyes with Joey. I am positive it was love at first sight! I was dressed up to the max (you know like the place in saved by the bell =)) Here is a gander at Mel and I's outfits.

HALLOWEEN:

As all of you probably already know, I am NOT a fan of Halloween. Everything scared me as a kid, so it is just not my choice of holiday. This year I wore THREE costumes, winning two prizes for them! My little sister and I decided to be a tree and an acorn. It was a really cute idea that she had. We won an award for most creative! Jodi and Stephen asked us to do the Run Like Hell race downtown and we dressed up at running with the bulls and won the best group costume! I then went to Sooz and Ross's party and was smartie pants. I don't really have pictures of my costume, but here is a picture of Alexis and I carving pumpkins. hahaha

TINY BEERS:

Stephen stayed in town for the weekend and he met us at Tiki Bob's for some 50 cent beers. Well, let's just say, we know why they were so cheap. In Steve's words, "ta heck with double fisting, I am going to just put them both in ONE hand!"

Kiley also had a problem. She was holding Emily's drink but she got a little thirsty herself. This is the outcome:

Last but not least, my boots! Here is a picture of me in my new boots! I never want to take them off, and I find myself wanting to shop for dresses and things that go with the boots. hahaha

NKOTB in the house!

New Kids on the Block concert is NEXT SATURDAY! I remember in April when Mel and I sat at the computer waiting for 10:00 to roll around so we could get our 7th row tickets! We have been waiting for this day to come for a loong time.

With the concert quickly approaching, we have had many discussions about what to wear. I have decided to wear my pink and white striped leggings, a jean skirt, white high tops and a shirt with a clip on the side. I have recently snatched the crimper from my parents house so this will go along with us as well. Scott has a screen printing machine, but the time has just approached so quickly that I didn't get a chance to get the shirts to him. I am quite bummed about that one.

We are making an evening out of it and having an 80's flashback/girls night. I will make sure to write more when we get back. I will have TONS of pictures I am sure!

Would you like a loan with that?

So two blogs in one day... check my temperature, I think I am running a fever :)

The other day I was headed to the bank to deposit money from my jewelry business I have started. I go to this bank quite a bit so it isn't like I am just a random Joe off the street. I walk in and fill out my deposit slip. When I get to the desk the lady greets me and processes all my checks. She hands me my receipt and as I am turning to walk away she says... "Did you want to get a loan today?" My response to this question was "no thanks, I have enough of those." I would have to say this is the funniest question ever. It isn't like I went to the bank on a mission to receive a huge loan today for something, went to the bank and completely forgot to ask for one. She asks me if I also want a loan and almost climb over the counter to hug her for reminding me. Is that something a person forgets? "Thank goodness you reminded me of that, I would have been in big trouble if I didn't get that loan today."
I understand when you are at McDonald's you order, and they ask "would you like an apple pie with that?" This makes sense. A decision of an Apple Pie is small. This might have been something you just hadn't thought about but realize... yeah that would be good in my tummy. This is not a life decision, one that will put you in years of turmoil of excessive payments and high interest rates.
I would like to challenge everyone to have that would you like .... with that at their jobs. Maybe this is something our society should turn to. I could be out of line making fun of her because by asking that question she could get 1 or 2 loans a day. I have taken the liberty of making some "tag lines" for some of my blog readers...

I will start with myself:
"Would you like a scholarship with that acceptance?"

Craig:
"Would you like steel toe shoes with that ladder?"

Jodi:
"Would you like a shovel with that soil sample?"

Mom:
"Would you like a vacuum with that dust rag?"

Dad:
"Would you like a life jacket with with that barge?"

"Would you like a raise with your check?" (this one might lose you money though :\)

Travel season is upon us!

I can't believe I am headed into my 3 year of travel season. My time as an Admission Counselor has really flown by. I have made a ton of mistakes when visiting different high schools. I think some schools are closer together than they actually are etc. Last year my goal of travel was to have fun and not get lost! I had this huge goal of making smarter travel decisions and really work hard on getting myself organized. This failed miserably. I did keep a journal last year and I think this week before I start my hardcore traveling I am going to take a trip down memory lane and read what happened last year.
I have already been to a few schools. If this is any indication of what my travel season might look like, we are in for some great blogging memories! I have had students ask what door of opportunity we are. This question just poses a lot of questions in my head. Mel and I have been trying to figure out what this exactly means since the question was presented. I have googled that question, CHA CHA'd that question and NOTHING. He claims to have been taught the doors in Health Class. The jury is still out.
We have cards that everyone must fill out if they want more information about the school. It just asks very simple questions... NAME, ADDRESS, AREA OF INTEREST etc. I had a student stand at my table to fill out the card and hands it back when he is finished. he wrote JARED in capital letters. nothing else... NOTHING! I didn't even want to ask for anymore information because that was too hilarious.
This year I haven't really decided what my goals will be. My travel has been cut significantly because I lost a few of my schools due to rearranging of territories. I am completely fine with this, because traveling isn't my favorite thing to do.
I will definitely keep everyone posted on what is going on with my traveling etc.

This is going to be a hilarious season for sure!

My over-commited self

Have you ever thought to yourself, gosh, that looks like fun, if I don't sign up for that, I really feel like I am missing out on what would be a fun part of me life? Well I have recently, but the problem is, I have been thinking it too much! I am not one to just sit at home knitting sweaters all day. Not that I have a problem with knitting, grandma quilts etc. and I love her work, it is an art form! BUT This is not something I see myself doing. Lately I have been kind of soul searching trying to find new things that would excite my life.

My boss is a part of this 4 year bible study which meets every Monday night. This sounds very interesting to me, because I am not as familiar with it as I should be. SIGN ME UP!! Those three words, as you will find through this blog, turn out to be scary ones!
I recently had a jewelry party at my house to help out a friend. I thought to myself, this is something that I could do. It is a great part time job, I make my own hours, perfect... SIGN ME UP!!

I was in church this past Sunday and they were talking about a bowling league that meets every other Sunday evening. I was in a bowling league a couple of years ago and had a lot of fun and was really getting good at it, so I called the lady and said.. "SIGN ME UP!"

I have been involved in a program for a year in which I have a little sister and we hang out awhile, so that isn't new, but I just met with the woman who matched us for our yearly review and this is something I really want to be more involved with, so she asked, "would you like to help out with different activities?" I said, "SIGN ME UP!"

Softball season is coming to an end next week, so I won't have to worry about that.
does anyone need me to help them out at all?!?!? =)

Kiley was just harping on me that I need to conduct a new blog. Yeah I guess she is right, I was on a roll there for a little, but stopped after the tragic bug incident! ha I was asking for suggestions and she said how about talking about the things that make you laugh. My trip with a bug

This morning I was driving into work. I noticed at a stoplight that I had a little bug on my window that was crawling up. Now, unlike my niece Lily, I am not IN LOVE with bugs. Usually, I will just turn on my windshield wiper and get rid of it, but today I started watching this little guy trying to make it up to my roof. The light changed to green and I started on my journey to work. The air was hitting the back of his wings making it hard to stay on my car. He turned forward and held on for dear life. THE ADVENTURE BEGINS!

I turned on to the interstate and found myself rooting for the little guy. At one point I wanted to pull over to the side of the road and let him off myself. (Lily probably would have given me an award for doing so) I was just filled with such mixed emotions. I wanted him to make it with me to work, I felt sad that he was now MILES away from his little bug family, and I was nervous that he might hit someone else's windshield and a little annoyed that he thought he could actually hold on to a car windshield on the interstate. He must have either not paid attention in bug school, or had a death wish.

At one point he re-positioned himself to get a better grip. He started sliding, but found another position that seemed to work for awhile. I had one more mile to go on the interstate we were almost there... a min. and he would be home free. When all of a sudden, the little guy just couldn't hold on anymore. he flew off the windshield and as I looked in the rear view mirror I saw a semi behind me! That bug is probably not ever going to see his bug family. He probably was on my windshield to find a better home, or a better life for his family and friends. I sadly didn't help the process. My bottom lip literally went out and was really sad for the little guy. After a quick mourn for the bug, I turned up my radio and listening to, you guessed it, Mamma Mia! HAHAHA

I hope his family isn't too sad when they hear the news!

Mamma Mia... here I go again!

So I have been obsessed with two things lately... (they are completely unrelated too) Dane Cook, and the Mamma Mia soundtrack.

I have Kiley and Chad to blame for these obsessions. Currently in my car CD player I have three Dane Cook CDs and the Mamma Mia sound track. All day at work I am singing MAMMA MIA... HERE I GO AGAIN.. and MONEY MONEY MONEY.. ain't it funny... and then I will randomly catch myself going.. "I did my best... I did my best." and "Everyone gets a humpback whaaaaale!" It is a horrible obsession. I can't stop listening to them! It is controlling my mind! Maybe I will start a new song... row row row your boat... gently down the stream... gosh what can I do? AHHHHH and I just lost THE GAME. This is not a good week for me!

Speaking of THE GAME, for those of you who don't know how "to play" it is simple. if you think of the words, "the game" you lose. That is it! once you think of those words you have to admit it to someone and then you all have 30 min. to forget about it. It sounds really stupid but you would be completely surprised at how often you think of those dumb words!

I introduced this to my family recently and there was no turning back... My nephew, who is 5 said to my brother the other day... "daddy let's play the game." and Craig goes, "ok but you just lost" and Wyatt goes, "no! the game aunt Janelle plays where you can't think of it." and Craig goes, "yeah I know exactly what you are talking about and you just lost." so Wyatt goes, "ok let's play again." He stands there staring at Craig not blinking, moving or speaking... Craig walks away and Wyatt goes, "Dad I thought we were playing THE GAME!" HAHAHA My family cracks me up!

I want to buy a house!

So this afternoon after work, I am chillin in my apt. I was going to meet Allison to go to dinner and shopping. As I get ready to leave, I find a note taped to my door. It is a note from the apt. staff stating that there have been several noise complaints and that we need to respect the quiet hours. GREAT! Well for one, my feelings are officially hurt. Who knows why... I am just like that. 1. Why couldn't these people come to our door first asking us to quiet down when this actually happened. 2. I know we have probably been loud in the past, but Stepharoo hasn't even slept here all summer, Tina was on vacation, and I have been here just to sleep lately. What could these people possibly be hearing? They say our music is up to loud... well if they are talking about my fish shower radio... a thousand apologies and I will make sure to turn his eye down in the future! HONESTLY PEOPLE!

The lady that lives below us I feel would just come tell us. One time when I got DDR, I was playing and she came up and told us to stop. I have not played the game since... problem solved! haha I just want to know why people don't have the nerve to come to our door, or even knock on the walls to let us know. WHY ARE PEOPLE SO PICKY?!?!?

Little sister mania

As most of you already know, I am in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. I have a little sister, Alexis. She is 10. We have so much fun together. It took us about 7 months to get into an actual groove of hanging out and truly being friends. The first day Alexis called me just to talk was probably one of the greatest moments! Of course there was a lot of silence, and a lot of "I am spinning right now and am really dizzy" None the less, as soon as we hung up I speedily (if that is a word) called my mom to tell her about the conversation. Just recently Alexis and I have finally become "sisters." The other day I took her out to eat and to the mall. We had actual conversations and it felt like we were becoming great friends.
Alexis also says the most hilarious things. The other day when I picked her up I asked her where she wanted to eat. She said she didn't care. I gave her two options, O'Charlies and Culvers. she then says to me, "Have you ever been to the Olive Garden?" Now she knows for a fact I have because she has asked me before. I tell her yes and ask if she would like to go there. She is sooooo excited! We got to eat outside and the meal was a lot of fun. As we are leaving the restaurant she goes, "I am going to bring my kids here someday. I just hope it stays open for years and years." HAHAHA I am glad I could have made her day!
If anyone is interested in becoming a big brother or sister let me know! They are just hilarious! =)

Shake your booty, NO WAY! Shake your booty... OK!

I just got back from a week of CYO camp. The staff numbers are down this year so I decided to take a week off of work and help them out. I was a floater so I got to hang out with 4 or so different groups. The groups that I hung out with this week were great! Probably one of the best group of students I have been around at camp. I think the funniest thing that happened this week was a kid comes up to me and says, "What does it mean if I feel like I have been smoking all day but I haven't?" I then say to him, "What?" and he goes, "I have smoke in my nose." Sometimes kids just say the funniest things.
After about 100 "Shake your booty" "sing the wee wee song." "walking around the OPC like constipated Giraffes." (that one is my least favorite) I would have to say, I am getting REALLY OLD!! hahaha Back when I worked at camp in 2003, I couldn't stop jumping, singing, and being crazy. Everyday this past week, I longed for rest period and bed time! I am sad to say that my youthful energy is slowly slipping through my fingers!
A lot of great things come out of camp for both the kids and workers. What a great example we can set for our future teachers, camp counselors, lawyers etc. Camp will always have a special place in my heart, but I think that I must say goodbye to working at camp.

The Game

So recently I have been trying to get back into the dating scene. Well I have never really left, but now I guess you could say that I want to CLAW my way into the scene. HAHAHA My roommate has recently started dating this guy... (see last post for something hilarious about the relationship:)) and we have been talking with our other roommate (a guy) to get his point of view on the whole thing as well. Boys have a very different outlook on relationships... according to Ryan it is.. A. I like her or B. she is crazy. (I usually fall into the B category)
"The game" is a very old tradition beginning with the Pilgrims I believe. The inevitable game that everyone must play when they are trying to start a new relationship. You are always on the edge of you seat. What do I do next? Was that last conversation too long? Did I say something stupid? Every time you think about even calling him you want to literally crap your pants. Now don't act like this hasn't happened to you in the past! hahaha Why is it so crucial to play "the game?" Every time girls get off the phone with a boy that they like, they immediately call another girlfriend and pick apart the ENTIRE conversation. You go step by step through the conversation and try to figure out if what you said was alright, if he will EVER call you again or if he has the police department on speed dial just in case he needs a quick restraining order because you are smothering him.
I want to start this new thing where I call when I feel like calling, I say what I want to say and I don't want to care what he thinks. If the guy doesn't like me for me... WHO CARES... it wasn't worth it then. After I decide to do this, about 5 min later you start thinking about it again and it is back to "the game." I am starting to think it is inevitable.
My sister-in-law gave me this book a couple of years ago as a joke "THE RULES Time Tested Secrets for Capturing the Heart of Mr. Right." This book is quite the treasure if I do say so myself. When I start to read it though, my chest tightens and I start to panic. Do people really do this? Just thinking about it wears me out to my very soul. hahaha There are so many things to consider. Can't we just all come to conclusion that everyone is nuts.. you just have to pick through the really crazy nuts to find one that you would like. =)
If anyone has a relationship that has already been started and wants me to take over so I don't have to worry about "the game" please let me know... I will pay!!!!!!

I am special!

The other day I was talking to someone about being left handed. If you haven't gathered already folks, I Janelle, am left handed! hahaha I was telling him that I could probably have my right arm cut off and not miss it because I can't do anything with my right. I know that is a bit extreme but sometimes I really feel that way. We got to talking about people doing things with their other hand. This individual was saying that he wears his watch on the right hand like a lefty. I have tried to wear my watch on the left hand and it just hurts when I write.

When it comes to me, the only thing I can do right handed is Crochet. This is only because my grandma got so nervous and frustrated trying to teach me, she FORCED me to learn right handed. It is probably the best memory I have of my grandma growing up. haha Her and her "Oh for heaven's sake Janelle, just learn right handed" Anyway, after this conversation he looked up for me and found that only 10% of the population is in fact left handed. 10%, talk about beating some odds. hahaha

This morning Jay and I were talking about this topic and how lefty's learn. I feel that as a lefty, I have an advantage because my whole life I have had to switch in my mind what everyone was teaching me. Maybe this is why I am a creative gal =)

Something else I have noticed is that I am always aware of what hand people use. I think it is because as a child I was different and I was always striving to find someone who was similar to me. When I find a friend who is left handed I get really excited! hahahah

Well I guess those are all my thoughts on the subject for awhile...

Trials and Tribulations

This weekend was more of a slow weekend. Ryan is moving in with us for a couple of weeks beginning this Sunday, so I was trying to really clean the place so it looks like girls actually live there. hahaha It was really good to finally have a weekend with no plans. After a great weekend I get to work ready to start the work week. Well as ready as anyone is on a Monday :) I get to work and the second I walk in the room the AC goes out! YIKES! then my computer is completely broken. So I had to re-locate myself on another computer in our office. This isn't the most ideal situation but I am prepared to do it. We play musical computers a lot in this office. I get on the other computer and the email doesn't work. Great! I literally have NOTHING to do. Isn't it amazing how our lives now revolve around Internet and computers? Back in the day it would have been noooo problem, but in today's society my work is put at a complete halt!


11:30 rolls around and I am more than ready for some social lunch time. I put my lunch in the microwave for 3 min. I then take it out.. still frozen.. AWESOME! By some stroke of fate I get my lunch heated, but it doesn't taste up to par.


It is officially 2:00 and our air is at full blast again, and I am back on my computer. I was definitely ready to throw in the towel this morning. I just hope the rest of the week doesn't reflect today's happenings.


My roomie and I are going swimming tonight in the apt. complex... That shouldn't be bad... BUT I may have a hilarious story tomorrow! :)

Life Goals

I know a lot of people have different "life goals" they set for themselves. some could be climbing Mt. Everest, Jumping on a hippity hop for a mile (FRIENDS quote there) or riding in a hot air balloon. I have strange life goals and I would like to share them. I do have to say though, riding in a hot air balloon is high on my priority list of things I want to do before I die... but I might just die while trying it.. hahaha Everyone once in awhile I will have this idea of a life goal I feel I should have. Some I have already accomplished.

-I think my biggest is wanting to visit all 50 states. I couldn't think of a cooler thing to do. Why wouldn't a person want to visit the WHOLE country where they live? I am currently at 20. I have a looong way to go, but also something to keeping working towards.

-Another random life goal of mine was to be listening to the same radio station as a person in the car next to me. This isn't something a person can plan. Well i guess you can, but that isn't fun. Well anyway, after years of waiting it happened! This past fall when I was driving in Evansville, the guy in the car behind me was singing the song in MY CAR! life goal... CHECK!

- I would also like to be able to pop an entire bag of popcorn with no kernels left. Now I am not quite for sure that this goal is possible. I am for ever hopeful, but if anyone knows this to be a totally impossibility, please let me know now! =)

- I have developed two recently. I would like to know all states and capitals, as well as the presidents in order. I think this is a skill everyone should attain... I am currently up to about 20 states and capitals, but know the presidents is going to be a challenge!

-I would like to be on the front page of the newspaper. Coming from a small town, this is a legit goal. I was on the front page of the Spencer County news once with my senior class in high school, but you needed a magnifying glass to see me... DOESN'T COUNT! but I will say this, if I die before this happens, that does count.. hahaha

-Another thing I would love to do and to put this on my, what I believe to be a very "shallow" list of goals, is funny. I would like to take an entire paycheck and spend it on whatever I want. clothes, games, movies, WHATEVER. First I have to have enough money in my savings to pay for bills... that could be awhile.

-I would love to get enough helium balloons together to float up to the ceiling. Now I have discussed this plan with my family and they say it is going to take a TON of balloons, but I am ready to give it a go!

My list is getting long and you have probably drifted off by now, so I will leave you with one final life goal... This last one is actually unattainable, but I can make do with something similar. At Holiday World, they used to have this bumper boats ride. That's right folks, my brother put a carousel in it's place! Anyway, to tell the people the ride was over, they would sound this siren and get on the intercom and say, "All boats, please dock." I want to do that sooooooo bad. They still have the little kid bumper boats, and didn't know if I couldn't possibly do it there.

Weddings, Engagements, Couples OH MY!

This weekend was fun. There was a lot going on and that is the way I like things! We married off another cousin this weekend! Kelly got married down in Evansville. I drove my other cousin, Jodi's fiance down with me Friday night for the rehearsal dinner at the bowling alley, which was a totally blast! It was nice to have the whole family together just bowling and having a good time. this is a picture of my mom and I in between bowls.

The day of the wedding I was given a lot of jobs... I helped set up the decoration hall, passed out programs, passed out beach balls (instead of birdseed etc) and cut the cake. I felt like the wedding planner! I love doing those kinds of things. Once the music started I honestly didn't leave the dance floor until the end. A good 5 hours of vanilla ice, hanson, oldies etc. How can you beat that? (This is my niece Lily and I making a train around the floor. she takes after me!)

We all met my cousin Stephen's new girlfriend, which is ALWAYS a big deal when people introduce new ones to the family =) Luckily we all love her and have no problem keeping her around!

Yesterday as I was driving back to Indy, my friend Lindsey called to tell me that she is ENGAGED! I honestly didn't believe it at first because she always said it was going to be years! boy did Zac have her fooled. hehehe

Love is definitely in the air. Tis the season for the love to start surfacing... I think it has something to do with the new found SUN LIGHT that we have anticipated for so long. People's hearts are just too full!! Let's cross our fingers that it is the same in my life too! hahaha

Alright Alright

After months of NOT writing on my blog, I guess it is time to start and maybe make it a habit! My office mate has just started a new blog and has been asking me to start one. WELL... I already have one. I refuse to give her my website name and it is bugging her. I really feel this is more fun that actually giving her the website. She is afraid that I am writing about her. hahaha

Life is going quickly. I have been really busy with weddings, graduations etc. Last weekend I went to my first Indy 500! I had a TON of fun socializing! We had went out the night before. I got four hours of sleep, and then woke up and headed to the track. We walked 2 1/2 miles to avoid the parking fees. We backpacked there carrying all of our "beverages." I saw the cars go around for about 15 min and then decided it was more fun to talk with the people around me. Below you will find a picture of me and some of my new found friends :)

As I was walking home I fell out of my sandal and sprained my ankle yet again. Once we got home I passed out icing my foot with corn, wearing my sunglasses, and holding a drink. Not my finest half hour.. hahaha

I guess that is all for now.. I am just proud that I wrote something again!

My Vacation in Washington D.C.

I don't EVER get to go on vacation! It has been sooo long since I have seen Caitlin. I was so excited that after years of being apart, we were going to get to hang out for a couple of days and just have a BLAST! There were lots of plans, places to eat and things to see! Well of course nothing ever goes the way that is planned.... I woke up on Saturday morning with the flu! =*(

We did a whole lot of nothing the entire weekend! I was sooo sick! I felt so bad and extremely disappointed because Caitlin had EVERYTHING planned out! We did get something done that we had planned though... WATCHED ROCKY! I am glad that I saved that movie for Caitlin! It was actually way better than I ever imagined!

Saturday really consisted of a lot of trips to CVS to get several different kinds of medicine.

On Sunday Caitlin went to church and after she came home, I was feeling a little better so we went for a very SLOW walk around town. We went to the Apple store to try and fix Caitlin's Ipod. (As I am writing this blog, the Apple commercial is on about the thin notebook. hahaha) After the store and a rest, I thought that i was able to watch a movie! We went to see Horton Hears A Whoo, which was really cute! I was feeling a little sick so I decided to take medicine. Well the medicine was drowsy, so I ended up sleeping through most of the movie. =( By the time Sunday evening came I was feeling SOO much better. I really wanted a re-do weekend! It was really awesome to get to see Caitlin again and catch up from all of those years, but I was bummed that we didn't get to have healthy fun! hahaha

Monday Caitlin went to work and I headed to meet Maya to go back to NYC for a couple of days. I will write about that trip another time this week! =)

Caitlin is my inspiration!

So everyday when I come into work I have a morning routine. I read my daily calendar, read my inspirational book my mom gave me for Christmas, and then I read Caitlin's blog. This may sound silly, but I really look forward to the wonderful world of Caitlin! hahaha I get so excited because it is a great way to keep in touch with friends from far away! SOOO after months of pondering, I will start my own blog =)

This past weekend was our Annual Drinklympics! It is just a night to act like we are in college again, and be silly and play lots of "games" hahaha

Last year you were to dress up as a certain country. I went as Canada. My outfit was amazing! I put a lot of thought into it.

This year we decided was a qualifing year so everyone had to go as a state. I really couldn't beat last years display, but I tried. I went as Kansas. I tried to be every character from the show wizard of OZ. Here is a picture of my roomies from Montana and Florida. I am not holding my oil can, basket or lollipop. You also can't see my AWESOME ruby slippers and striped socks. I guess you can say this picture doesn't do our outfits justice. hahaha

All in all it was a great night! Mike O. sure knows how to host an super fun party!
